The graphic design work I present may illustrate many directions, however it remains consistent to Christian moral standards. To present God and His importance, I use digital enhancement, photography, painting, and more to construct and create my art. God is an artist. He creates and manipulates His surroundings making infinite space to marvel; this plan gives me inspiration. Starting in art through photography, I use editing to make my statements resolute. Staying within the two-dimensional plain I expanded my ideas of the world to incorporate the philosophy. The goal is developing work that shines in the darkness, growing my art beyond the surface. My work becomes more than just a design, it incorporates more mediums and areas than the mind can process, such as elements of digital illustrations combined with paintings. God’s work in me is infinite; it touches many Christian ideas while remaining constant to moral standards.

My favorite verse in the bible helps guide me in art and toward God.

Work

Work

Through this verse, Jesus is telling us to destroy our own plans and desires, and turn them over to Him and do His will every day. In this way, I am called to the work I make is based on the full commitment to God and His existence. I was born premature and given a 5% chance of survival. Without God I would not have survived. People constantly prayed over me and this became a huge influence in my life and work.

Once I made this decision, other fields started to open up with ideas for designs and my art became more diverse. Fields such as painting, drawing, sculpting, video, writing and music, as well as other brainstorming took place to achieve a deeper understanding into the creative and artistic world. Once I discovered my abilities to work within these fields, I soon discovered better ways to pair them and mix them together. Photography, painting and computer editing made the best statements for my work, and relate to the work God has presented and that I have seen. In the end, it is ideas and values that guide my direction of work.

"Then Jesus told his disciples, If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.  25  For whoever would save his life [g] will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.  26  For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?

27  For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.  28  Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom."  ( Matthew 16: 24 – 28)
